How it works

Set up GA4 tracking in four steps.

Select a container, import it into GTM, update your Measurement ID, and publish. That's the entire process.

01

Download a template

Select the container that fits your business type. Download the JSON file — you can open it to review the contents before importing if you'd like.

02

Open Google Tag Manager

Create a GTM account if you don't have one, or open an existing container. Head to Admin → Import Container.

03

Import & merge

Select the JSON file you downloaded. Choose Existing workspace, then select Merge. Click Confirm. Your existing config stays intact.

04

Configure & publish

Update the GA4 Measurement ID variable to match your property. Review tags, triggers, and variables. Preview, test, then publish.
